The Dodgers Strike Back!

Well, admittedly, we at Dodgerblogs have been rather quiet lately. After a HORRIBLE month of April, the Boys seem to have turned the corner. May has been a spectacular month so far, carrying them from the cellar of the NL West to the threshold of the division lead. April saw the Dodger limp to a [...]

Dodgers… Back on track?

After an abysmal first week roadtrip that found the Dodgers with a 2-4 record with losing series to both the Pirates (a team that is on nobody’s post-season prediction list) and the Marlins, the Dodgers look to be righting their ship, by winning back to back series against the Diamondbacks and the Giants at home. [...]

Dodgers Sweep the Pirates - Magic Number Reduced to 11!

The Dodgers did what they haven’t been able to do since mid-July… sweep a series. Sure, it was against the lowly, cellar-dwelling Pirates (last time it was against the other NL Central dogs, Cincinnati Reds). But all in all, the Dodgers did what they had to do in this series, and then some.
Monday it was [...]

Dodgers Rally Again for Another Victory

Andre Ethier, for the sixth time in the 2009 season, hit a walkoff hit to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory.  On Tuesday night around 11PM, Ethier hit a pitch into the right field pavillon at Dodger Stadium for his 30th home run of the season, resulting in a 5-4 win for the Blue.
Ethier, [...]

Dodgers Finish Road Trip at 4-2

Although the Dodgers ended a six game road trip by losing to the San Francisco Giants 7-2 on Sunday, the Dodgers completed the trip with a 4-2 record, which includes winning two out of three games from both Arizona and San Francisco.
Over the weekend, the Dodgers cruised to a 10-3 victory on Friday night and [...]

Dodgers Continue Battle in Arizona

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers embarked on a six game road trip that include stops in Arizona and San Francisco.  Last night, the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks 7-2 on home runs by Manny Ramirez and James Loney.  The Dodgers improved to 82-57 and still hold a 3 1/2 game lead on the Colorado Rockies [...]

Dodgers Win Six Game Road Trip

The Los Angeles Dodgers ended a six game road trip on Sunday with a 3-2 victory against the Cincinnati Reds.  The Dodgers had to play 12 innings to win, but came up victorious when Matt Kemp hit a sacrifice fly RBI in the top of the 12th to help the Dodgers beat the Reds.
The Dodgers [...]

Season Stats updated

OK, I’m not trying to count our chickens, as they say…
But after a HUGE win over the Giants last night, the Dodgers look to be back on track. The Dodgers go for the sweep today against a very tough, Tim Lincecum. No small task… but if the Dodgers can do it, look for this to [...]

Andre the Giant does it again!

The Dodgers have clearly been struggling over the past couple weeks. Hot and cold pitching, missed opportunities in key situations, Manny’s slump since his bobblehead night grand slam… you name it, they are certainly suffering from the dog days of summer. And we’re not talking about Dodger Dogs!
Last night certainly seemed like yet another game [...]

Another Year To Hear “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball”

Last week, this writer was pleased and saddened at the same time when the Los Angeles Times reported Vin Scully will be returning to broadcast his 61st year of Dodger baseball in 2010.  Pleased because he is returning, but saddened because the article quoted Scully in a telephone interview 2010 could be his final year [...]
